Wildlife -> “Miracle” baby white rhino considered a breakthrough for zoo

The San Diego Zoo welcomed a baby southern white rhino born on Sunday.

The yet to be named male calf was born to mother Holly and father Maoto (May-O-toe) on April 2.

It’s considered a breakthrough for the facility, the baby was Holly’s first calf in 10 years of breeding.

Zoo officials credit a change of diet for the miracle offspring and say the new finding could serve as the link needed to improving the population of Southern white rhinos outside of Africa.
